Defence Base Operational Services
Aircraft support services
From refuelling, de-icing and handling aircraft to managing catering supplies and scheduling and monitoring flights, we deliver a range of aircraft services to support military operations.
Airfield equipment maintenance
We maintain all airfield ground handling equipment, making sure tools such as motorised steps and baggage carousels, as well as vehicles, such as catering trucks, are in good working order.
Armoury & ammunition services
Mitie takes responsibility for storage and safekeeping of armoury, managing weapons issuance and ammunition loading. We work with local constabularies to make sure the right accreditations and safe working practices are in place.
Coastal surveillance
Mitie provides coastal surveillance services including monitoring military training through radar and CCTV, as well as surveillance infrastructure maintenance.
Fleet management
We manage and monitor the MOD’s white and green fleets.
Fuels & lubricants
Mitie operates and maintains fuel infrastructure and manages fuel supply. We mix additives and refuel aircraft and other vehicles from petroleum supply depots.
Infrastructure construction
We deliver infrastructure refurbishment and construction projects, including refurbishing runways and roads, as well as constructing new facilities for increased capability.
Library services (document storage and retrieval)
Mitie operates in accordance with MOD Joint Service Publications guidelines to provide document storage, retrieval and destruction.
Logistics management and support
Services encompass stores, portering, haulage and movement of equipment.
Mess management
We offer mess accounting services for both public and non-public funds, plus accommodation services, including finding and booking accommodation, as well as cleaning and laundry.
Military training support
Mitie provides administrative services, such as booking training facilities, plus provision of training materials through our reprographics department.
Motor transport maintenance and support
Our services include making bookings and supplying drivers. We also maintain a wide range of vehicles, from trucks and excavating equipment to HGVs.
Nuclear support
Mitie’s services can be provided within a nuclear environment with NERO-trained colleagues.
Passenger and baggage handling
We offer secure terminal check-in, passenger transport and baggage handling.
Targetry maintenance and repair
We manage the construction, maintenance and repair of military training exercise targets.
